NEW YORK — After ending his run on ABC’s “Live! With Regis and Kelly,” Regis Philbin is aiming for a bigger primetime talent show geared to the whole family, he told the New York Post’s Page Six.

Philbin, who hosted the first season of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” has formed RAF Productions with former “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee” director Barry Glazer, “City Island” executive producer Edward Walson and Writers Guild Awards executive producer Cort Cassidy, it reported.

Actor River Phoenix passed away during the filming of “Dark Blood” in 1993, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, the film may be finished after all these years.

The 23-year-old star of “My Own Private Idaho” and “Running on Empty” died of a drug overdose outside L.A. club The Viper Room on Halloween night, leaving his drama “Dark Blood” unfinished. He’d been shooting the movie the day he died.

Dutch director George Sluizer says after much editing of the footage he’s kept hidden for 18 years, he should have a final cut of the film ready next year.

Jon Gosselin made no effort to conceal his joy over the cancellation of “Kate Plus 8,” saying he was “relieved” that the show was over and that his kids could finally have some much needed privacy. And now he has some words of advice for ex-wife Kate, who will be showless after the Sept. 12 finale.

“It is with great sadness that the staff and crew of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ mourn the loss of ‘Uncle Frank’ Potenza,” ABC said in a statement.

Potenza, 77, was a security guard for the show, and made appearances numerous appearances during his nine years on the program, including in segments called “Guillermo’s Hollywood Round-Up” and “Uncle Frank and Aunt Chippy’s Adventures.” Prior to working on his nephew’s late-night program, Potenza was a New York City police officer, and security guard at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

NEW YORK — This week marks the final weekly airing of “America’s Most Wanted” on the Fox network after 23 years and 1,153 fugitives nabbed.

“I don’t think it’s hit me yet,” said John Walsh, the host and driving force of what he turned into a nationwide crime watch. “Saturday when I see the last show — that’s gonna be painful.”

But that broadcast, which airs at 9 p.m. EDT, is billed as the season finale — not the series conclusion — on the “AMW” website.

(CNN) — Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey took her final bow in a taped episode that aired Wednesday, marking the end of her 25-year daytime talk show with a tearful goodbye.

“You all have been a safe harbor for me,” Winfrey told her audience. “My hope is that you will be that safe harbor for someone else.”

The media mogul signed off by walking through her audience and offering an e-mail address — oprah@oprah.com — by which her many fans may contact her.

More than 150,000 “Oprah Winfrey Show” fans wanted to get in to the talk show host’s star-studded spectacular last night, but just 20,000 fans made it.

The lucky ticket holders for tapings of two of Oprah Winfrey’s final shows lined up outside Chicago’s United Center Tuesday afternoon – anxious to escape a strong spring wind and eager to see what had been billed as an all-star farewell to the Queen of Talk.

Cousins Alisia Brown and Nicole Bailey told CNN they scored last minute tickets to the spectacular from none other than Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King.

Hollywood, California (CNN) — Larry King, America’s interviewer-in-chief, ended his record-setting career as CNN’s prime-time, talk-show host Thursday night with a serenade from Tony Bennett, a greeting from President Obama and a “Larry King Day” proclamation from California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Those guests and others capped his 25-year run behind the microphone with CNN.

“Welcome to the last ‘Larry King Live.’ It’s hard to say that,” King said in his opening remarks to his last show.

NEW YORK – It’s the last go-round for “As the World Turns.”

TV’s oldest daytime drama aired its final episode Friday, concluding a run that began in April 1956.

Always full of emotional turmoil, “World” was set in the mythical town of Oakdale, Ill., where there was no shortage of couplings, heartbreak, double-dealing and hairpin plot twists.

CBS announced in December that it was pulling the plug on the New York-based show, which ranked at the bottom of the ratings among network soaps. It wrapped production in June.
