(EW.com) — Lifetime will put John Walsh back to work: The network announced today that it has picked up “America’s Most Wanted.”

The show that began its run on the Fox owned and operated stations and then moved to the network will return for its 25th season later this year on Lifetime. (In May, Fox canceled the show as a weekly Saturday series because the show was no longer profitable but it will still air quarterly specials — the first of which will bow in October.)

NEW YORK — This week marks the final weekly airing of “America’s Most Wanted” on the Fox network after 23 years and 1,153 fugitives nabbed.

“I don’t think it’s hit me yet,” said John Walsh, the host and driving force of what he turned into a nationwide crime watch. “Saturday when I see the last show — that’s gonna be painful.”

But that broadcast, which airs at 9 p.m. EDT, is billed as the season finale — not the series conclusion — on the “AMW” website.

New York (CNN) — Like so many other people of my generation, John Lennon and the Beatles made an indelible stamp on my life. The very first piece of vinyl I actually owned — and hadn’t borrowed from my older brother — was the album “Help!”

To this day, I can remember at the age of 8 dropping the needle on the disc and hearing Lennon’s voice roar through the 10-inch speaker on my record player.

The Beatles had a profound influence on me. They’re the reason why I picked up a guitar, formed a band at age 11 and dreamed of a life as a rock star.

Fast-forward 16 years to December 8, 1980.

John Walsh, who’s been catching bad guys for years as host of the long-running Fox series, says it was a tip from his show that led Beverly Hills cops straight to the suspected triggerman who slayed Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen.

CNN) — An album that John Lennon autographed for his killer just hours before he was gunned down outside his New York City apartment building went on sale Monday for a whopping $850,000.

The copy of Lennon’s iconic “Double Fantasy” album, released in 1980 and featuring the former Beatle and his wife, Yoko Ono, is being sold by an anonymous seller, according to New York autograph dealer Gary Zimet.

“Given the fact that it’s unarguably the most important rock and roll artifact ever,” Zimet said, the album is appropriately valued.

Before Michael Jackson’s death, the singer told his mother that he feared someone wanted to kill him, Katherine Jackson told “Dateline NBC.”

“He told me several times that he felt that people wanted him gone, wanted him dead,” Katherine Jackson said in an interview airing Friday at 9 p.m. ET. “It’s just some of the mean, evil, vicious people didn’t want him around for some reason. They’re greedy.”

Los Angeles, California (CNN) — Dr. Conrad Murray expects to surrender to Los Angeles authorities this week on charges relating to the death of Michael Jackson, his lawyer said Tuesday.

“Dr. Murray is more than ready to surrender and answer to any charges,” attorney Ed Chernoff said.

Prosecutors have not announced any charges, however, and Murray has not been told how or where he should surrender, according to Miranda Sevcik, spokeswoman for Murray’s legal team.

(Entertainment Weekly) — Thirty-four-year-old Gerhardt “Jerry” Fuchs, a beloved fixture of both the New York and Athens, Georgia, rock scenes who played with LCD Soundsystem, !!! (pronounced Chk Chk Chk), Turing Machine, MSTRKRFT, and The Juan MacLean, died Saturday night in a fall after attempting to crawl out of a broken elevator shaft at a benefit party in Brooklyn.

Fuchs, who also freelanced at Entertainment Weekly, was a house drummer of sorts for progressive record label DFA, as well as a member of long-running Athens post-rock outfit Maserati (sadly, he had replaced original Maserati drummer Mikel Gius, also the original drummer for !!!, who died in a bike accident in 2005).

Los Angeles, California (CNN) — Video of Anna Nicole Smith appearing to mistake a doll for her unborn child was just the reality TV star acting for a camera, a defense lawyer for Howard K. Stern says.

Prosecutors presented the tape in a preliminary hearing last week as evidence that Stern and two doctors conspired to keep Smith in a drug stupor in the two years before her death.

(CNN) — A rising Canadian folk singer was killed by coyotes this week in a national park in Nova Scotia, a park spokesman said Thursday.

Taylor Mitchell, 19, was at the beginning of the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park on Tuesday afternoon when she was attacked, according to Chip Bird, the Parks Canada field unit superintendent for Cape Breton.

Bird said hikers saw the coyotes attacking Mitchell and called 911. She was airlifted to a hospital in Halifax, where she died about 12 hours later, he said.
