Los Angeles (CNN) — A mirror that Michael Jackson looked into as he dressed in his final months and onto which he scribbled a message to himself sold for $18,750 at auction in Beverly Hills this weekend.

Julien’s Auctions sold 524 items that furnished the 100 North Carolwood mansion in Los Angeles’ Holmby Hills neighborhood, significant because it was where Jackson and his three children lived in the months before his death. Jackson did not own the furnishings.

Michael Jackson spent his final days in a beautifully appointed private home that was not his own. But the fact that they were his final days now potentially can turn into a financial bonanza for the house’s actual owners, who are selling off over 600 items the late singer and his children used and lived with while he rehearsed for his comeback “This Is It” tour in 2009.

The auction will be conducted by Julien’s Auctions on Dec. 17; a free exhibit of items from the 100 North Carolwood Drive house will be open as of Dec. 12. As auctioneers Darren Julien and Martin Nolan told TODAY’s Ann Curry, they will re-create rooms from the house and place the items up for bid, so that visitors and bidders can get a sense of what it was like to live amongst the furniture and personal items up for grabs — many of which were marked or written on by Jackson and his children.

LOS ANGELES — Michael Jackson’s estate has generated more than $310 million in the two years since the pop singer died deeply in debt, enabling executors to distribute a preliminary payment of $30 million to Jackson’s mother and children, and to unnamed charities, according to recently filed court documents.

Executors also disclosed Tuesday that Jackson’s mother, Katherine, is putting the family’s fabled Encino compound up for sale and wants the executors to negotiate the purchase of a new residence for her and the children, Paris, Prince and Michael Joseph Jr., known as Blanket.

LOS ANGELES — The Discovery television network on Friday said it canceled plans to air a reenactment of the autopsy on Michael Jackson’s body, citing an upcoming court hearing and concern by the late pop star’s estate.

The show, “Michael Jackson’s Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson,” had been set to air in several countries of western Europe and in the United Kingdom on January 13.

“Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson’s estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson’s official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely,” Discovery Networks International said in a statement.

LAS VEGAS — The physician criminally charged in the death of pop superstar Michael Jackson is keeping his Nevada medical license.

Deputy Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners chief Edward Cousineau told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Dr. Conrad Murray admitted to making inaccurate and incomplete statements to the board about being current on child support.

LOS ANGELES — A new Michael Jackson music video is hitting the Internet preceding the launch of a posthumous Jackson album.

The video, previewed by The Associated Press, debuts at midnight Thursday Eastern time on worldwide websites, including MichaelJackson.com, said Jackson estate co-administrator John Branca.

Los Angeles, California (CNN) — A Michael Jackson duet with Akon recorded in 2007 will be released Monday morning as the first official single from the late pop star’s next album, Epic Records announced Friday.

“Michael,” Jackson’s first album of new music in nine years, also includes duets with rapper 50 Cent and rocker Lenny Kravitz, according to Epic. It will be released on December 14.

CHICAGO — Katherine Jackson will discuss the death of her son, pop superstar Michael Jackson, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Harpo Productions said Monday that Winfrey’s interview with Jackson’s mother will air Nov. 8 on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, and his three children will also appear during a backyard visit taped for the episode.
