LOS ANGELES (Billboard) – John Cossette, who followed in father Pierre’s footsteps as the producer of the Grammy Awards telecast, died Tuesday at the age of 54. The cause of death was not given.

Cossette had been involved with Grammys for nearly two decades, most recently serving as executive producer of the 53rd annual ceremony in February. He also executive produced the Grammy nominations concert and Latin Grammys telecasts.

LOS ANGELES – Bryan Adams is now enshrined in concrete.

The Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist and producer got his Hollywood Walk of Fame star Monday in front of the Musicians Institute.

His hits included “Cut Like a Knife,” “Summer of ’69,” “Run to You,” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.”

Adam recalled visiting Hollywood Boulevard at 16 and marveling at the stars. He said he was humbled by seeing his own star.

LOS ANGELES – Aretha Franklin missed Sunday’s Grammy Awards, but the Queen of Soul was far from forgotten.

The show’s first 15 minutes were devoted to Franklin, who was hospitalized last year and has canceled concerts and personal appearances through May.

LL Cool J reminded audience members of Franklin’s 18 Grammy wins at the start of the show, just before singers Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Martina McBride and others performed a rousing medley of some of the music legend’s greatest hits.

Los Angeles, California (CNN) — Michael Jackson’s two eldest children are scheduled to take the stage this weekend to accept the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for their father, Jackson family sources said.

It would be the first public appearance for Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, since their dramatic appearance at the memorial service 12 days after their father’s death.

(CNN) — A planned tribute to Michael Jackson at the upcoming 52nd annual Grammy Awards will feature the first-ever 3-D performance on an awards show.

Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich said a 3-D mini-movie created for Jackson’s “Earth Song” will be presented as part of a tribute performance featuring Smokey Robinson, Usher, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood.
