Amid reports that his wife Elin Nordegren is consulting with a high-powered divorce attorney, Tiger Woods and his estimated net worth of $600 million – considered one of the biggest in professional sports, thanks in large part to sponsorship endorsements worth some $1 billion – is coming under scrutiny, should a divorce necessitate a need to divide his estate.

In addition to issues of custody involving the couple’s two children, Sam, 2, and Charlie, 10 months, experts in family law are saying that the factors involved would include the location of the divorce filing and what terms were specified in any prenuptial agreement.

(CNN) — Out of all the headline-grabbing celebrities this year, HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight” has chosen Jon Gosselin as the most provocative.

Gosselin was crowned the winner from a competitive pool that included former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, singer Chris Brown, disgraced beauty queen Carrie Prejean and Michael Jackson.

“Jon Gosselin was the tabloid train-wreck gift who just kept on giving!” said “Showbiz Tonight” senior executive producer David Levine. “It was almost like he was begging for attention. Divorce Kate? Check. Date the 22-year old daughter of your wife’s plastic surgeon? Check. Consider doing another reality show with fellow train-wreck Michael Lohan?

The Tiger Woods case might be closed in the opinion of the Florida Highway Patrol, but not according to some of the women who reportedly have had relationships with the pro golfer.

A Los Angeles-based cocktail waitress, Jaimee Grubbs, told Us Weekly that she had a 31-month fling with the married Woods. Grubbs said she has hundreds of text messages that prove this, and provided Us with a voicemail Woods reportedly left Grubbs on Nov. 24 in which Woods suggests that his wife suspects he is having an affair.

Jon Gosselin’s girlfriend Hailey Glassman and his friend Michael Lohan are among the witnesses TLC plans to subpoena in a breach of contract lawsuit filed against the reality star, according to new court papers.

Maryland’s Circuit Court of Montgomery County has granted motions filed by the network’s lawyers to depose Glassman, 22, Lindsay Lohan’s dad Michael, 49, as well as Gosselin’s lawyer Mark Heller, manager Michael Heller, bodyguard Thomas Meinelt and his talent rep Matthew Kirschner.

“A part of me always will [love Jon],” she said. “It’s hard to to be married to somebody for 10 years and try to say ‘No, I don’t love them anymore.’ It doesn’t work really well. I love the memories that we have together.”

Sitting down with the Today show’s Natalie Morales for a special aired on TLC Monday night, Gosselin, 34, described a bleak life after splitting with Jon, with her living in the center of a maelstrom of media attention.

The host of CBS’ “Late Show” said he now has to try to repair his relationship with Regina Lasko.

“Either you’re going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you’re going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed, so let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me,” he told the audience.

The apology came about 15 minutes into the show, but Letterman fired self-deprecating zinger after zinger as soon as he strode on stage and began his opening monologue.

“I mean, I’ll be honest with you folks,” he said. “Right now, I would give anything to be hiking on the Appalachian Trail. I got in the car this morning — and the navigation lady wasn’t speaking to me.”

“I was watching ‘Jon and Kate’ and then I was seeing him on the cover of magazines with my shirt and asking for a job,” the Ed Hardy designer said, adding he soon flew Gosselin out to Saint-Tropez to join him on vacation.

“I met the guy for two days to see what he wanted to do as a job. In the beginning it was Jon and Kate, and then the guy came with another girl. He told me, ‘I’m going to come with my stylist. I need two tickets for the plane.’ So I said, ‘no problem.’ “

It’s gotten so weird: magazines and newspapers are full of tales of Kate Gosselin in tears and enraged at her wayward husband; Jon is seen out clubbing and hugging girls a decade younger than he is.

And then you turn on “Jon & Kate Plus 8” only to see, this week, Kate having mommy time with three of her boys on a North Carolina battleship, while Jon stuck close to their Pennsylvania home, taking the two eldest, twins Mady and Cara, to an arcade to climb ropes and ride go-karts.

Me, I choose to stay away from a lot of the tabloid stuff and watch what I always enjoy: the kids and their enjoyment. Fortunately for Aaden, Collin, and Joel, they’re still young enough to ignore what Kate referred to as “our little disruptive paparazzi friends,” who started snapping pix of the kids scampering up and down the USS North Carolina.

Speaking on Monday’s “Today Show” in her first live TV interview since her marriage ended seven weeks ago, Kate broke into tears as she told the program’s Meredith Vieira that the ring remains on her finger because “I don’t want to upset [the children].”

The sextuplets and twins, all under the age of 10, “know that it’s my ‘married to Daddy’ ring,” she said.
