Talk about unfortunate timing.

Less than a week after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced that they were reopening the 30-year-old investigation into the death of actress Natalie Wood, Wood’s husband, Robert Wagner, is set to make his small screen return as a murder suspect on “NCIS.”

On the CBS drama, Wagner, who according to police is not considered a suspect in Wood’s death, plays Anthony DiNozzo, Sr., otherwise known as the father of Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo. It’s not the first time Wagner’s joined the show for the same role, but it is the first time his character’s been seen carted off in handcuffs.

“When you hit the 70 mark, some of your friends have been destroyed or are dead,” the comedian and activist says by phone. “You keep going, but you do have a feeling that as you’re walking forward, someone’s turning the lights out behind you.”

ABC’s “All My Children” stayed true to its soapy roots all the way up to its last on-air minute. Fans of the long-running series had this day marked on calendars since ABC announced they were giving the soap the boot in favor of a new food and lifestyle talk show, “The Chew,” earlier this year.

Before the final on-air hour began, fan favorite cast member Susan Lucci, series creator Agnes Nixon and executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers all stopped by “The View” for a special hour-long send-off.

Jon Gosselin made no effort to conceal his joy over the cancellation of “Kate Plus 8,” saying he was “relieved” that the show was over and that his kids could finally have some much needed privacy. And now he has some words of advice for ex-wife Kate, who will be showless after the Sept. 12 finale.

According to Hollywood police, Fisher was involved in a dispute Thursday with his neighbor over whether some swimming pool towels had been hung up.

The actor allegedly struck and choked the victim, who is currently in the hospital going through tests.

In the case of “All My Children,” which ends its run on ABC in September, Carol Burnett and Sarah Michelle Gellar are among the cast veterans who have booked return appearances.

Now, the show’s creator is also writing herself back in. Agnes Nixon, who has had a writing hand in most modern soap operas and created “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and the long-defunct “Loving,” will reprise her role as Agnes Eckhart, a long-standing board member at Pine Valley Hospital. Her first episode will be on August 31 and will continue in an arc.

Turning 30 usually signifies that a person has hit a certain maturity level and has reached full adulthood. But that doesn’t really apply to MTV, which celebrates its 30th birthday on Aug. 1. The first-ever 24-hour music channel has made it a point not to grow up and to instead align itself with the kids of each succeeding generation.

Sherwood Schwartz, the legendary producer who created “The Brady Bunch” and “Gilligan’s Island” and also wrote their theme songs, has died at 94, his great-niece reports.

Robin Randall says Schwartz died at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Schwartz won an Emmy in 1961 for his work on “The Red Skelton Show” and worked on numerous other programs, but will forever be best known for his two campy 1960s-1970s sitcoms.

“Gilligan’s Island” featured a hummable theme song telling how a boatload of seven characters, including a professor and a movie star, wound up stranded on an island. Bob Denver played Gilligan, the first mate.
