LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actress Cloris Leachman already holds the record for most Emmys won by an actor __ male or female __ with a total of nine.

She had a chance to top herself at last week’s Creative Arts Emmy ceremony, set to air this Saturday on ReelzChannel, for her guest-starring role on “Raising Hope.” Leachman plays the only occasionally lucid Maw Maw on the Fox sitcom, which also earned star Martha Plimpton a nomination for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — In one of the first episodes of the “Gold Rush: Alaska” Discovery Channel series, miners hoping to strike gold kill a bear near their camp.

The killing was unwarranted, even though the shooter had a license and a non-resident black-bear tag, the state Department of Natural Resources said.

In a letter to the mining company, the agency said the bear did not appear to be the same one that entered the camp earlier, and it was not in camp when it was killed, the Anchorage Daily News reported Friday.

Los Angeles, California (CNN) — Large and small donations flowed in Monday evening as dozens of celebrities answered phones for Larry King’s telethon to help the people of the U.S. Gulf Coast suffering from the oil disaster.

“A hundred dollars? Wow! Thanks you so much,” rocker Tyson Ritter told one donor who called in.

The two-hour CNN show raised $1.3 million with proceeds going to three charities deeply involved in the efforts to help humans, wildlife and the environment.

But one constant is returning to the family’s life — German shepherds Shoka and Nala are coming home soon.

“My kids’ lives have been changed and compromised and altered enough over the past year,” Kate Gosselin told PEOPLE. “I realized if I had two difficult kids I wouldn’t send them away and ask for new kids.”

“I promised myself I wasn’t going to cry, but I couldn’t help myself,” Lakewood resident Billie Peterson said, dabbing her eyes after a weekend “Marley” showing at the Edwards 26 in the Long Beach Towne Center, which she attended with her two daughters. “But we weren’t the only ones. The whole theater was sniffling at the end.”
